WTA Attends ITB Berlin 2019

Berlin, March 6, 2019 — The WTA delegation attended the 53rd ITB Berlin in Germany at the invitation of Messe Berlin.

As one of the top ten trade fair and event organizers worldwide, Messe Berlin GmbH has recently become a member of the WTA. At a work meeting held during the show between the WTA Secretary-General Mr. Liu Shijun and Mr. Martin Buck, Senior Vice President of Messe Berlin, the WTA member certificate was handed over to the latter. Liu said that having Messe Berlin on board will boost the communication and cooperation between the WTA and its members in Europe and benefit the organization’s image in the international tourism community. Buck extended welcome to the delegation and expressed gratitude for officially becoming a member of the WTA. He was delighted to have witnessed the progress and potentials of the WTA demonstrated since its establishment and looked forward to win-win cooperation.

WTA Attends ITB Berlin 2019

During the ITB, WTA had a chance to meet and brief its members both from China and Germany who were also there attending the show about the recent works of WTA and invite them to its upcoming activities. For the purpose of membership development and cooperation, the Secretary-General made a courtesy call on the Secretary of the Department of Tourism of the Philippines, inviting the latter to the WTA annual brand event known as the Xianghu Dialogue. The delegation also attended the Opening Ceremony of ITB Berlin and the “China Night” activity hosted by Shanghai Jinjiang Group, also a member of WTA.

As one of the world leading trade shows, ITB Berlin is praised as the Olympics of Travel. The ITB Berlin 2019 attracted some 10,000 exhibiting companies from more than 180 countries and regions with its 26 exhibition Halls that cover an area of 160,000 m2.
