WTA Attends the 2024 Shandong High-Quality Cultural and Tourism Industry Development Conference

On the afternoon of April 25, the 2024 Shandong High-Quality Cultural and Tourism Industry Development Conference opened in Linyi. Mr. LIN Wu, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, attended the opening ceremony declaring the conference kicked off. Also present were Mr. ZHOU Naixiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor of Shandong; Mr. LI Qun, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism and Director of the National Cultural Heritage Administration; Mr. ZHANG Xu, Chair of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA); Mr. LIU Shijun, WTA Vice Chair and Secretary-General; XU Peng, WTA Vice Chair; and Parakhat Durdyev, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in China.

After deliberation by the 2nd WTA Council, it is hereby announced that Zhang jiajie Municipal People’s Government、Lijiang Municipal People’s Government、Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Co., Ltd、HCG International Travel Group co., Ltd、Wuxi Juna Hotels Group、Silk Road Samarkand Touristic Centre LLC、Zala Springs Golf Resort、Skyzone Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd、The Bicester Collection, totaling 9 units, officially became members of WTA from April 15, 2024.

Announcement on Termination of Five Institutional Members

According to Article 7 of Chapter 3 of the Membership Management Rules on Termination of Membership. After deliberation by the 2nd WTA Council, it is hereby announced that from April 15, 2024, the membership of Genting Hong Kong Limited、Ling Nan Eco & Culture-Tourism Co., Ltd.、HNA Aviation & Tourism、Okay Airways Company Limited、OYO Hotel Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will be terminated.

Harbin, January 5 — In a remarkable display of cultural exchange and tourism collaboration, the 40th China Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, alongside the Opening Ceremony of the France-China Year of Culture and Tourism, commenced grandly in Harbin Ice and Snow World. This prestigious event, co-hosted by the Harbin Municipal People's Government and the Embassy of France in China, saw notable figures from both nations come together to celebrate the richness and diversity of their cultures. Secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, XU Qin, officially inaugurated the festival, while the Governor of Heilongjiang, LIANG Huiling, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. In a significant move, LU Yingchuan, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, and Olivia Grégoire, representing the Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France, jointly inaugurated the France-China Year of Culture and Tourism. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Bertrand LORTHOLARY, the French Ambassador to China, and Mr. LIU Shijun, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) and Pansy HO, WTA Vice Chair and Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Global Tourism Economy Forum. A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of magnificent ice sculptures of the Temple of Heaven and Notre-Dame Cathedral, symbolizing the cultural bridge between China and France.
