Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Co., Ltd. (BSHR), the principal investor, builder, and operator of the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway and its line stations, was established in Beijing on December 27, 2007,funded by 12 shareholders. The company was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on January 16, 2020,with a stock code of SH.601816. It has raised funds to control Beijing Fuzhou Passenger Railway Anhui Limited Liability Company.
The Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway is one of the most significant historical construction projects in China, involving the largest one-time investment and the highest technical standards. The railway, 1318 kilometers long, traverses seven provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shanghai. lt connects the two major economic areas of Beijing, Tianjin, andHebei with the Yangtze River Delta, has 24 stations along the line, and is designed to run at a speed of 350 km/h. In its 12 years of operation, it has run approximately 1.6 million trains, safely transporting over 1.6 billion passengers. lts transport safety is persistently stable, its volume and income are constantly growing, its economic benefits are improving,and its social benefits are significant. lt has won the reputation of “The world looks to China for high-speed rail, and China looks to the Beijing-Shanghai route”. lt has established a global image of China’s high-speed rail brand.
Beijing Fuzhou Passenger Railway Anhui Limited Liability Company, which manages a high-speed railway operation distance totaling 1109 kilometers, accounting for 46% of the high-speed railway distance in Anhui Province, and has 30 stations, plays a significant role in serving the integration of Yangtze River Delta development strategy, connecting the Central Plain economic region, the Wanjiang urban belt and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,building Anhui’s comprehensive three-dimensional traffic corridor,driving regional economic and social development, and meeting the travel needs of local people.
