亲爱的世界旅游联盟会员：
Dear WTA Members,
对全球的许多目的地而言，一年中最好的旅游季节已经到来。想必大家和我一样，已按捺不住背起行囊、踏上旅途的渴望。我们和世界已经分隔得太久。
For many destinations around the world, the peak tourism season of the year has arrived. Like me perhaps, you can hardly wait to pack your luggage and embark on a journey. We have been separated from the world and our travel and tourism community for too long.
过去几个月发生的一切让我们明白，面对流行性疾病这一全人类共同的敌人，国际社会唯有齐心合力、共同应对，才能战而胜之。危机时刻呼唤的是团结的力量，而世界旅游联盟正是一个通过促进旅游来推动人与人之间沟通、理解和互信的国际平台。我相信有联盟全球会员和衷共济，人们因封闭和隔离而产生的距离终将通过旅游这条纽带重新拉近。
In the face of the common threat of a global pandemic we all have to face and overcome, and in light of the events of the past few months, it is abundantly clear that the only path for the international community to triumph over this adversity is to unite as one. Times of crisis call for solidarity and strength. This is why WTA, as an international platform, is unequivocally committed to its role in promoting communication, understanding and mutual trust among peoples across the world through tourism. I firmly believe the rifts caused by isolation and quarantine will eventually heal through tourism.
就像许多会员朋友在联盟《见面闲聊》访谈栏目中提到的那样，新冠疫情无疑是一场灾难，但这段经历对行业的长远发展而言存在现实的意义。一方面，疫情将促进行业反思应对准备和成效，催生出可实操的应对措施，促进整个行业危机管理水平的提高。另一方面，疫情将检验全行业的运营管理水平。在危机中生存下来的优质企业将推进旅游业的高质量发展。此外，危机中也蕴藏着亟待挖掘的商业机遇，最近在不断升温的“直播带货”就是一个很好的例子。待一切回归平常，这些都将是危机留给行业的一笔宝贵财富。
Although undoubtedly a devastating crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, as some of our members expressed in their responses to our interview in Chitchat with an ACE, has valuable implications and takeaway lessons for the long-term development of our industry. This crisis has prompted our industry to reflect on the effectiveness of our preparation and response, develop more realistic and actionable measures that will lead to an overall improvement of our crisis management. The pandemic has put our business operation and management to a test. High quality businesses that survive this crisis will bring a new and enhanced round of quality development to our industry. With the “livestreaming economy” as an example, alternative opportunities that maximize and optimize technological innovations need to be explored. When things eventually return to normal, these are assets we are utilizing during this crisis that we can harness in the future.
交流是旅游的核心价值，是任何困难都无法压抑的人类需求。随着天气转暖，全球各地疫情拐点到来的消息频频传出，许多地方正在常态化疫情防控中有序全面推进复工复产，一些国家和地区即将解除对旅行和出入境的限制。禁锢旅游者脚步的冰雪正在消融，人们的旅行又将启程。
People-to-people exchange is not only one of the core values of tourism but also a fundamental right and need that cannot be suppressed by serious bumps on the road. As the temperature rises, we are starting to hear good news about the inflection point of virus transmission at various places across the world. On the basis of normalized prevention and control practices, many places are pushing forward with the resumption of work and production in a phased, orderly manner. Some countries and regions have announced the dates for lifting the restrictions on travel and entry-exit. The ice and snow that have held back tourism activities is thawing. Soon, people will start to travel again.
黎明前，黑夜总是显得特别黯淡。在这关键的时刻，让我们携起手来，再坚持一下，让更多的企业在考验中生存下来，让更多的从业者能够继续他们的工作。
The darkest hour always comes before dawn. At this critical moment, let us all join hands together and hold on a little longer so more businesses could overcome this trial and retain more jobs for our industry.
世界旅游联盟与全球会员和旅游业界同仁同舟共济、守望相助。让我们共同把生产力的火种留住，让它在不久的将来再次燎原。
WTA stands in solidarity with our members and the global community on our way to recovery and rebound. As long as we persevere and continue to nurture the seeds of productivity, there is no doubt our business will thrive again in the near future.
