The German Travel Association （DRV ）was founded in 1950. DRV is the leading association within the German tourism sector, primarily representing the interests of tour operators and travel agents. DRV’s4,000 members account for more than 95 per cent of travel turnover in Germany.Members of our associations range from small, specialist tour operators and independent travel agencies through to publicly-listed companies and household names. As an association we are focused on outbound tourism, catering to the needs of more than 70 Million German holiday makers.In this context we are interested in conferring with tourist destinations, other tourism organizations and companies associated with tourism in order to boost international mobility and tourism as a whole. About 30 staff are employed in the DRV’s head office in Berlin. Our employees provide a wide range of services for our members. In addition to representing the interests of travel agents and tour operators in relation to federal policy makers and institutions at European level, we provideour members with legal advice. In addition, we carry out tasks in connection with professional and academic qualification within tourism, we are entrusted with questions of standardisation of tourism products, we are involved in crisis management and are committed to strengthening sustainability in tourism.
