Established in 1983, Tourism College of Zhejiang (TCZJ) is a public tourism college under the administration of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, jointly supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province. With two campuses in Xiaoshan and Qiandao Lake respectively, TCZJ covers a total area of 180 acres, home to an enrollment of 14,000 full-time students and more than 600 faculty members, including 157 professors and associate professors, more than 90% of whom possess dual-profession qualifications. TCZJ is the only national model vocational college in the tourism category, the only national tourism standardization model college, the first tourism institution in China with the UNWTO TedQual certification, and the first Outstanding Pilot Unit of Education Informatization rated by the Ministry of Education. In 2019, TCZJ was recognized by the Ministry of Education as a national high-quality vocational college, and was honored as one of the first batch of colleges to construct high-level disciplinary cluster with Chinese characteristics. In addition, TCZJ has won the honorary title of national “Service Contribution Top 50”consecutively since 2016 for the service provided by teachers and students in the high-level events such as the Hangzhou G20 Summit and the World Internet Conference, the honorary title of “International Influence Top 50” since 2017 for the achievements such as the establishment of the Sino-Russian Tourism Institute in Moscow and the Sino-Serbian Tourism Institute in Belgrade, and was granted the honorary title of “Education Achievements Top 50” in 2019. The Xiaoshan campus is now a national AAAA scenic area, where Zhejiang Tourism Museum, the only provincial level tourism-themed museum in tourism-themed museum is located.
