1. Sunriver’s Strategic Investment in Haichang Ocean Park Sets New Milestone in China’s Cultural Tourism

Since entering the cultural tourism space in 2008, Sunriver Holding Group Co., Ltd. has developed over 40 tourism projects across 14 provinces and municipalities in China. Its portfolio spans 6 World Heritage Sites, 10 national 5A-rated tourist attractions, and 16 4A-rated attractions, forming key regional tourism clusters in Greater Xiangxi, Greater Huangshan, and Greater Nanling.
The group’s A-share listed company, Zhejiang Sunriver Culture Tourism Co., Ltd (600576.SH), recently completed asset restructurings to consolidate premier mountain tourism assets—including the Bailong Elevator, Huanglong Cave, Fenghuang Ancient Town, Qiyun Mountain, Bifeng Gorge, Mangshan Mountain, and Danxia Mountain in Zhangjiajie.
According to its Q1 financial results released on April 28, 2025, Sunriver Culture Tourism recorded RMB 212 million in revenue, marking a 55.22% year-over-year increase, and RMB 31.19 million in net profit attributable to shareholders, up 158.67% from the same period last year.
Beijing Haichang Ocean Park, located next to Universal Studios, has been designated a key project in the Tongzhou District’s 2024 government work report. Once completed, it will be Beijing’s first large-scale marine-themed attraction developed since 2000, with trial operations slated for the first half of 2027.

Held in Shanghai from May 27 to 29, ITB China 2025 marked a significant milestone in strengthening tourism ties between Saudi Arabia and China. Making its debut at the event, Qiddiya Investment Company introduced Qiddiya City—envisioned as Saudi Arabia’s future entertainment capital. Among its flagship developments, Six Flags Qiddiya City, the country’s largest theme park, is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2025. Spanning an area of 500,000 square meters, the park will feature a range of attractions expected to break world records.
Travel between China and Saudi Arabia is now easier than ever, with two key policy upgrades: the introduction of online visa applications and a free 96-hour transit visa. The Saudi Tourism Authority is also working closely with China-based destination management companies to develop customized travel packages that cater to Chinese tourists’ preferences.
3. Saudi Arabia Launches "TOURISE" Global Tourism Platform to Support Economic Diversification

Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, recently announced the official launch of "TOURISE," a comprehensive global platform aimed at positioning the kingdom as an international hub for the tourism industry, integrating tourism, technology, investment, and innovation. TOURISE will operate year-round through digital collaboration tools, specialized working groups, and global summits to promote dialogue, technological advancements, and investment across the tourism industry. The inaugural TOURISE Summit is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, in November 2025. According to recent data, tourism now contributes nearly 5% to Saudi Arabia’s GDP, making it the second-largest economic sector after oil.
