On January 7, during the 42nd Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, Fujian Province—this year’s Guest Province of Honor—hosted a cultural and tourism promotion event in Harbin. Centered on the theme "Through Mountains and Seas, We Sing," the event officially launched the "Winter Exchange: New Year Travel in Fujian" cultural tourism public benefit program, inviting visitors from Northeast China to travel to Fujian and experience the province’s unique New Year celebrations. Highlights included the stunning debut of a Fujian tulou–inspired ice sculpture at Harbin Ice and Snow World, alongside a photo exhibition showcasing Fujian’s cultural and tourism offerings.
2. "Study Tour China" Industry–Education Integration Consortium Inaugural Conference Successfully Held

The inaugural conference of the "Study Tour China" Industry–Education Integration Consortium hosted by Beijing International Studies University, Tourism College of Zhejiang, China International Travel Service Limited Head Office, and Beijing Zhongkai International Study Travel Co., Ltd. was held in Beijing from January 12 to 13. The newly established consortium will focus on strengthening industry–education integration, improving collaborative talent cultivation, advancing industry sector standards, and promoting joint faculty training, shared platforms, collaborative research projects, and industry brand development. Its goal is to build a high-quality study tour education ecosystem, cultivate multidisciplinary professionals to meet industry demand, and comprehensively support the sector’s shift toward greater standardization, professionalism, and long-term sustainable growth.
3. Legoland Shanghai Resort to Debut First CNY Celebration on January 28

Legoland Shanghai Resort will host its first Spring Festival celebration since opening, running from January 28 to March 3, 2026. The event, themed "A Big New Year Deserves a Big Joy," will combine traditional Chinese New Year customs with LEGO’s signature boundless creativity, offering families with children a festive holiday journey full of surprises.
During the celebration, the park will be upgraded with festive decorations, themed performances, Year of the Horse–limited interactive experiences, and hands-on creative activities, turning the festive atmosphere into shared family moments of exploration, adventure, and creativity.
4. Mafengwo Forms Strategic Partnership with Mount Fanjing

On January 17, Chen Gang, founder and CEO of Mafengwo Group, and Jian Qinggang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Mount Fanjing Cultural Tourism Group, formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
The partnership will focus on building an AI-powered service platform, expanding immersive destination experiences, and strengthening integrated marketing for Tongren’s regional tourism resources. Together, both sides aim to support the upgrade of Tongren’s cultural tourism sector, with Mount Fanjing as its centerpiece.

Air France–KLM recently signed a New Distribution Capability (NDC) agreement with TravelSky Technology Limited, marking a significant step forward in its efforts to deliver a more seamless and innovative booking experience for Chinese travel agencies and clients, and a milestone in expanding modern airline retailing.
With the new NDC connection in place, travel agencies and clients in China can now access Air France–KLM’s innovative and competitive products and services through TravelSky’s AGGSKY NDC platform. This development is expected to bring greater choice, improved convenience, and more personalized travel solutions to the Chinese market.
6. China UnionPay Attends WEF Annual Meeting

China UnionPay was recently invited to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. On January 21, China UnionPay Chairman Dong Junfeng spoke at a themed roundtable titled "Chinese Economy: Fully Emerged?"
During the discussion, Dong exchanged views with global leaders on China’s economic outlook, innovation-driven growth, and its contribution to the global economy. 7. Capital Airlines Launches Beijing Daxing–Colombo Route, Building a New "Aerial Silk Road" Between China and Sri Lanka

On January 8, Capital Airlines held a press conference at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in China to announce the launch of its new Beijing Daxing–Colombo international route. The airline confirmed that the direct service will commence on January 31, with flights operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The route will be the only direct flight connecting northern China with Sri Lanka, and is another major capital-to-capital air corridor introduced by Capital Airlines—marking an important step forward in the airline’s support for the Belt and Road Initiative, while also strengthening its South Asia network.
