UnionPay Donates Collections to WTM

On March 11, the ceremony of China UnionPay Co., Ltd., a World Tourism Alliance (WTA) council member, donating collections to World Tourism Museum (WTM) was held at the headquarters of UnionPay International in Shanghai. Li Xiaofeng, CEO of UnionPay International, and Wang Kunxin, Deputy Secretary-General of WTA and Director of WTM, participated in the donation ceremony and held a meeting.

During the meeting, Li Xiaofeng introduced the business development of UnionPay International and its services to overseas resident cardholders amid the pandemic, as well as the achievements of localized business development. Wang Kunxin introduced the construction progress of WTA headquarters and the WTM, as well as the collection of museum collections and the efforts made by WTA in promoting peace, development and poverty reduction through tourism.

At the ceremony, the two sides handed over the donations and the donation certificate. The collections donated by UnionPay to WTM comprise copies of the early documents of UnionPay, theme cards featuring domestic tourism, various overseas UnionPay card products, and UnionPay’s poetry POS machines for the public benefit. The collections showcase UnionPay’s contribution to finance and tourism, as well as to poverty reduction.

WTA headquarters and the main building of WTM at Xianghu Lake, Hangzhou have been completed and are expected to open in the second half of this year. So far, WTM has collected 327 (sets) collections under the generous assistance of WTA members and enthusiastic citizens from all walks of life. WTM’s collection of items is still going on, and the museum is expecting the support of more WTA members and cooperation with WTA to draw a blueprint for tourism development in the museum.
