Hangzhou – During the 2025 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue, the U.S.-China Study Travel Dialogue was successfully convened with the support of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) and was joint organization by the American Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and the China National Tourist Office, New York. Mr. ZHENG Hao, WTA Vice Chair and Secretary-General, delivered the opening speech, while Mr. Brent Imrie, President of SYTA, and Ms. Carylann Assante, CEO of SYTA, gave keynote addresses and closing remarks.

HANGZHOU – The World Tourism Alliance (WTA) released two research reports during the Xianghu Dialogue on November 19: "2024-2025 Cross-Border Tourism Consumption Trends Report" and "From Poverty Alleviation to Rural Revitalization: China's Practice in Sustainable Rural Development Through Tourism".

The 2025 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue continued on November 20 with a diverse agenda dedicated to cross-sector collaboration and technological innovation. The day featured 27 global tourism leaders, including WTA Vice Chair Mr. Adam BURKE, President and CEO of Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board; Mr. Peter SEMONE, Chair of the Pacific Asia Travel Association; Mr. ZHUANG Zhuoran, Vice President of Alibaba Group and CEO of Fliggy; and Mr. Benny Wang, Senior Vice President of Trip.com Group. Discussions centered on two key themes: Cross-Sector Co-Creation — New Business Models Shaping the Landscape of Tourism and Technology Synergies — Empowering New Scenarios of Tourism. The program included six keynote speeches and four panels, diving into trending areas such as sports events, cross-border tourism consumption, the nexus of tourism and education, the digital transformation of tourism enterprises, and the rural structural transformation through tourism.

On November 20, 2025, Mr. ZHENG Hao, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), met with Ms. Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City and former Minister of Culture of Mexico, who was in Hangzhou to attend the 2025 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue.

HANGZHOU, China – The "2025 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue" commenced on November 19 in Hangzhou, drawing together prominent figures from the global tourism sector. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. LU Yingchuan, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China; Mr. HU Wei, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, China; Mr. ZHANG Xu, WTA Chair; and Mr. YAO Gaoyuan, Mayor of Hangzhou Municipal People's Government.

On November 9, the 2025 Trip.com Group Global Partner Summit kicked off in Istanbul, Türkiye. The opening forum featured addresses by Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye; WEI Xiaodong, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul; LIANG Jianzhang, Executive Chairman of the Board of Trip.com Group; Jane SUN, CEO of Trip.com Group; and ZHENG Hao, Vice Chair & Secretary-General-Designate of the World Tourism Alliance.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – From November 7 to 11, 2025, the 26th Session of the UN Tourism General Assembly convened in Riyadh. Mr. ZHENG Hao, Vice Chair and Secretary-General-Designate of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), led a delegation to the 45th UN Tourism Affiliate Members Plenary Session upon invitation.

The "2025 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue" will be held in Hangzhou, China, from November 18 to 21. This event is supported by the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), European Travel Commission (ETC), Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

On November 4, 2025, Mr. ZHENG Hao, Vice Chair and Secretary-General-Designate of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), met with Ms. Maria Rosa Azzolina, President of the Istituto Italo Cinese (IIC), and her delegation at the WTA Headquarters in Hangzhou, discussing ways to deepen tourism cooperation.
