The "WTA • Xianghu Dialogue 2023", held on November 15-16, convened global tourism experts under the theme "The Power of Travel and Tourism—Towards a Better Future".

Kunming, November 17, 2023 – The China International Travel Mart 2023, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and the People's Government of Yunnan Province, commenced today at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention & Exhibition Center. The opening ceremony was graced by SUN Yeli, Vice Minister of Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee and Party Group Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, WANG Ning, Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, YIN Shijun, Chief Engineer of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and the guest of honor, Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports. The Governor of Yunnan Province, WANG Yubo, presided over the ceremony. Mr. ZHANG Xu, WTA Chair, attended the opening ceremony and, alongside other leaders and international guests, inaugurated the event.

November 15, 2023 – In a significant move, the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), in conjunction with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), has released a pivotal document titled "Tourism: A Driver for Shared Prosperity - Key Insights" during the 2023 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue. This release, in partnership with the International Poverty Reduction Center in China, also includes the "2023 WTA Best Practices of Rural Revitalization Through Tourism".

November 10, 2023 - The 13th Anhui International Culture and Tourism Festival, a significant event in the global tourism calendar, was inaugurated in Huangshan, Anhui. The opening ceremony was announced by WANG Qingxian, the Governor of Anhui Province. Distinguished attendees included Mr. ZHANG Xu, WTA Chair, SUN Yong, Deputy Governor of Anhui Province, with a video address by ZHU Shanzhong, Ambassador of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The event, hosted by the People's Government of Anhui Province and organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province and Huangshan Municipal People's Government, saw participation from over a hundred travel businesses from more than thirty countries and regions, including the United States, Russia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions of China.

November 8, 2023 – The China Cultural and Tourism Enterprise Cooperation Development Conference, under the theme "Join Hands with Hospitable Shandong for a Win-Win Future in Cultural Tourism", commenced in Zibo, Shandong. The conference, featuring an opening ceremony, a main forum, and four parallel forums (matchmaking sessions), serves as a platform for domestic and international cultural and tourism enterprises to explore cooperation opportunities. Dignitaries including Shandong's Deputy Party Secretary and Governor ZHOU Naixiang, World Tourism Alliance (WTA) Chair Mr. ZHANG Xu, President of the China Tourism Association Qiang DUAN, and President of the China Cultural Industry Association ZHANG Bin graced the event with their presence and speeches.

November 8, 2023 – The 2023 China-Africa Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Forum was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, China. The event was graced with video addresses by DU Jiang, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, and H.E. Mr. Seleshi Girma, State Minister of Tourism of Ethiopia. In-person speeches were delivered by H.E. Rahamtalla M. Osman, Permanent Representative of the African Union to China, XU Peng, Level I Inspector of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and LI Binfeng, Vice Mayor of Jinhua Municipal People's Government.
