On the afternoon of January 5, the 42nd China Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival opened at Harbin Ice and Snow World. The opening ceremony was attended by XU Qin, Secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee. LIANG Huiling, Governor of Heilongjiang Province; ZHENG Hao, WTA Vice Chair and Secretary-General; and Andrew Knack, Mayor of Edmonton, Canada, delivered speeches.

On December 30, ZHENG Hao, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), met with H.E. Ambassador SHI Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre. The two sides exchanged views on jointly organizing the 2026 China-ASEAN Tourism Dialogue, deepening tourism cooperation between China and ASEAN, and promoting high-quality development of regional tourism.

WTA Participates in the 2025 Maritime Silk Road International Cultural Tourism Festival
QUANZHOU, Dec. 11 — The 2025 Maritime Silk Road International Cultural Tourism Festival opened today. The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Fujian Province, and hosted by the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism together with the Quanzhou Municipal People’s Government. Senior officials including LU Yingchuan, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism and a member of the Party Leadership Group, and LI Xinghu, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Mr. ZHENG Hao, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), was present at the launch.
U.S.-China Study Travel Dialogue Successfully Held in Hangzhou
Hangzhou – During the 2025 WTA • Xianghu Dialogue, the U.S.-China Study Travel Dialogue was successfully convened with the support of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) and was joint organization by the American Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and the China National Tourist Office, New York. Mr. ZHENG Hao, WTA Vice Chair and Secretary-General, delivered the opening speech, while Mr. Brent Imrie, President of SYTA, and Ms. Carylann Assante, CEO of SYTA, gave keynote addresses and closing remarks.

HANGZHOU – The World Tourism Alliance (WTA) released two research reports during the Xianghu Dialogue on November 19: “2024-2025 Cross-Border Tourism Consumption Trends Report” and “From Poverty Alleviation to Rural Revitalization: China’s Practice in Sustainable Rural Development Through Tourism”.
