WTA Attends 2nd World Ice and Snow Economy of Cold Regions Conference

On December 19, the 2nd World Ice and Snow Economy of Cold Regions Conference was grandly opened at the Beidahu Ski Resort in Jilin City, China. Mr. XU Peng, Vice Chair of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), was invited to attend the opening ceremony. The conference attracted participants from 17 countries, including diplomatic envoys, representatives of chambers of commerce and industry associations, and senior executives from 41 Fortune 500 companies, multinational corporations, and well-known enterprises. The opening ceremony was hosted by Ms. YANG Andi, Vice Governor of Jilin Province. Key speakers included Mr. LI Jing, Deputy Director and Party Leadership Group Member of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Mr. HU Yuting, Deputy Secretary of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Governor of Jilin Province. Dr. Ulf Hausbrandt, Minister of the Austrian Embassy in China, also delivered remarks. Mr. YU Zaiqing, Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Vice Chair of the Chinese Olympic Committee, read a congratulatory letter from IOC President Thomas Bach. Corporate representatives, including Mr. CHEN Yun, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Railway Group Limited, and Ms. Anna, Vice President of Club Med China, addressed the audience. The event also featured the Release Ceremony of the China Ice and Snow Economic Development Index Report (English Version).

Before the conference, Mr. XU Peng held discussions with Mr. JIN Yuhui, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Jilin Provincial Government, Mr. GAO Changbo, Deputy Secretary-General of Jilin Provincial Government, Ms. SUN Guangzhi, Director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and other provincial leaders, including Mr. JIN Zhenlin, Deputy Director of Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Mr. LIU Dawei, Deputy Mayor of Jilin City, Mr. TIAN Yunpeng, Second Level Inspector of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. The talks focused on enhancing the international influence of China’s ice and snow economy and promoting ice and snow tourism development. Mr. XU Peng expressed gratitude for Jilin Province’s support for WTA·Beidahu Dialogue and reaffirmed WTA’s commitment to strengthening future cooperation and exchanges to further advance China’s ice and snow tourism industry.

During the conference, the China-Austria Ice and Snow Industry Exchange was held, creating a platform for deeper collaboration between the two nations in winter tourism and sports industries. In addition, the event featured exhibitions such as the Jilin Premium Products Showcase, International Ice and Snow Equipment Expo, Jilin One-Code Purchase Experience Zone, and Local Snack Experience Area, enabling participants to fully experience the unique charm of Jilin’s ice and snow culture.
