WTA Attends the 26th Qinghai · China Investment and Trade Fair for Green Development

On the morning of June 25, 2025, the 26th Qinghai · China Investment and Trade Fair for Green Development grandly opened in Xining. Attendees and speakers at the opening ceremony included Mr. WU Xiaojun, Secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the CPC and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress; H.E. Mr. Sinisa Berjan, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to China; Mr. Jésus Enrique ESCAMILLA NUNEZ, Minister-Counselor of the Mexican Embassy in China; Mr. SUN Shuo, Vice Mayor of Beijing; and Mr. XU Peng, Vice Chair of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA). Mr. WANG Guangqian, Vice Chair of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Executive Vice Chair of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, delivered a speech and declared the event open.

Mr. XU Peng highlighted Qinghai’s rich tourism resources and ecological heritage, noting the province is embarking on a new chapter of tourism industry upgrading through green development. As a key pilot zone for China’s efforts to build world-class tourist destinations, Qinghai has pioneered an innovative path to green prosperity by leveraging its ecological advantages. WTA will mobilize its global resources and knowledge network to share international best practices with Qinghai while engaging diverse stakeholders to jointly advance the province’s tourism sector toward innovative, inclusive, and sustainable high-quality development. This approach aims to transform ecological assets of "Magnificent Qinghai" into tangible economic value, securing its unique position in the global tourism market.

Centered on the theme "OPEN COOPERATION, GREEN DEVELOPMENT", this year’s fair features a 60,000 m2 exhibition space with comprehensive, cooperation-exchange, and regional development halls. Key events include the opening ceremony, an investment promotion conference, and a signing ceremony for major cooperative projects, alongside special activities such as the "Invest In China" Qinghai Promotion Tour and the "Dialogue on Qinghai’s Private Economy". The event has drawn participation from 513 leading Chinese companies and 41 multinational corporations, while introducing dual guest countries of honor for the first time, charting a new course for green development.
