WTA Attends Launching Ceremony of Nihao! China: China Ice & Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season 2025

On January 5, the Launching Ceremony of NIHAO! CHINA: China Ice & Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season 2025 and the Dream of Winter Global Promotional Campaign was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The event was co-hosted by the Network of International Culturalink Entities and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Heilongjiang Province. Key attendees included Mr. ZHANG Xu, Chair of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA); Mr. Ma Li, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the People’s Government of Heilongjiang Province; Mr. Nga Kor Ming, Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia (KPKT); and Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), who delivered speeches at the ceremony. Francesco Frangialli, Honorary Secretary-General of the UN Tourism and former Director of Atout France, addressed the event via video message. The event welcomed nearly 300 Chinese and international guests, including representatives from the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, members of the China Ice & Snow Tourism Promotion Alliance, and the Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance, as well as cultural and tourism enterprises, media, scholars, and social media influencers.

The event aims to implement the concept that "ice and snow are also invaluable assets", leveraging China’s winter tourism resources to stimulate cultural and tourism development. The program seeks to drive high-quality international cultural and tourism cooperation, using ice and snow tourism to connect China with the global community. The promotion season will include a range of activities: Global Screening of Themed Videos; "Ice and Snow Dreams, Travels across China" Themed Photo Exhibition; Local Cultural and Tourism Resource Showcases; NIHAO! CHINA Overseas Promotion Sessions.
