On December 8, 2020, Mr. Liu Shijun, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), was invited to attend the “Friendly Shandong Service Festival” of Shandong Hotel Industry and the High-quality Development Forum of the Hotel Industry under the New Development Paradigm in Jinan, Shandong, China. Liu Shijun said in his speech that the current tourism is showing a strong momentum of recovery and development; after the “Phoenix Nirvana” and rebirth of the hotel industry, the impact of the pandemic has prompted us to reflect and change; by improving our own quality, cultural taste, scientific and technological level, service level and building a high-quality talent team, we can accelerate the pace of the hotel industry to adapt to the market innovation and development, thus improving the management and operation level of the whole industry. WTA is willing to work with all sectors of society to give full play to its advantages as a platform for international and domestic exchanges and cooperation, so as to promote the development of hotel and tourism in a better manner.
“Friendly Shandong Service Festival” is a provincial industry activity of Shandong hotel industry established by Shandong Tourist Hotels Association in 2018. It is the third time to celebrate the festival this year. Sponsored by Shandong Tourist Hotels Association and Jinan Culture and Tourism Bureau, the event was under the guidance of China Tourist Hotel Association and Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and supported by authorities including Shandong Federation of Trade Unions, Shandong Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Federation of Industry and Commerce of Shandong Province, as well as more than 20 provincial and municipal tourist hotel associations countrywide.
