Recently, the first season of the video “Better Tourism, Better Life, Better World” from the best practice in poverty alleviation through tourism made based on WTA Best Practice in Poverty Alleviation Through Tourism won the second prize of the creativity spread competition 2020 “Tell Good Stories about China” in terms of the theme of decisive battle against poverty.

Guided by the State Council Information Office, the event was sponsored by China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and served as a platform of annual official brand activity and social practice for the public at home and abroad to solicit stories about China in various fields, spread good reputation of China, and establish a good international image of China. Previously, the event had been held two times successfully. The theme of the 2020 competition was “moving forward with a common destiny”.

The first season of the video “Better Tourism, Better Life, Better World” was shot and produced by WTA and China Global Television Network (CGTN), and officially released at the 2nd WTA·Xianghu Dialogue in September 2019. Five typical examples were selected from the WTA best practices in poverty alleviation through tourism. An in-depth research in rural areas in China was conducted, and videos were shot to truly restore the typical image of the area where the practices were taken, so as to tell vivid stories about how tourism transformed the natural endowment of “lucid waters and green mountains” into “mountains of gold and silver” in an international context, and about making local people live a better life, so as to explain and disseminate the core concept of “Better Tourism, Better Life, Better World”.

In the near future, the second season of the video on WTA best practice in poverty alleviation through tourism will be officially released. Please stay tuned.
