On September 17, the ceremony of Lingnan Group donating collections to World Tourism Museum (WTM) was held at LN Garden Hotel. Wang Kunxin, Deputy Secretary-General of World Tourism Alliance (WTA) and Director of WTM, Liang Lingfeng, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of Lingnan Group, attended the donation ceremony and held a meeting.
During the ceremony, the two sides exchanged collections and donation certificates and talked about the history and significance behind the batch of the collections. Wang Kunxin introduced the development history of WTA, the construction progress of the WTM and collection work, and expressed his gratitude to Lingnan Group for its donation. Liang Lingfeng said that Lingnan Group’s donation meant its fulfillment of the obligations as a WTA member. Lingnan Group hoped to further the cooperation with WTA and worked together to promote the development of China’s tourism.
Lingnan Group is a member of WTA. Its LN Garden Hotel is one of the first three platinum five-star hotels in China, with a history of more than 30 years. The collections donated by Lingnan Group comprise 6 pieces (sets), involving a replica of the garden hotel’s stone gilt mural “Grand View Garden of the Dream of the Red Chamber”, rubbings for cornerstone inscribed by Yang Shangkun, copperplate etchings and historical photos of LN Garden Hotel. The collections show Lingnan Group’s contribution to the development of China’s tourism and hotel industry.
So far, WTM has collected 405 (sets) collections under the generous assistance of WTA members and enthusiastic citizens from all walks of life. The collection work of WTM is ongoing, and more WTA members and all walks of life will join hands with WTA to tell the story of tourism in WTM and depict the blueprint of tourism development.
