On March 23, 2021, the initiative activity for the Self-Discipline Convention of the Tourism Industry against Illegal Trade in Wildlife was successfully held in Beijing. World Tourism Alliance (WTA) and China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA) jointly released the Self-Discipline Convention of the Tourism Industry against Illegal Trade in Wildlife (hereinafter referred to as the “Self-Discipline Convention”).

On March 11, the ceremony of China UnionPay Co., Ltd., a World Tourism Alliance (WTA) council member, donating collections to World Tourism Museum (WTM) was held at the headquarters of UnionPay International in Shanghai.

Recently, Zhu Guoxian, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department, inspected the construction of World Tourism Alliance (WTA) headquarters and World Tourism Museum (WTM), learning details about the project construction and visiting the on-the-job personnel.

The author shares some thoughts on the function, positioning and exhibition hall design of the World Tourism Museum centering on three main purposes of the museums, namely, “education, research and appreciation”, proposed in the Regulation on Museums (2015) released by the State Council and the ICOM Statutes (2007) by International Council of Museums (ICOM) in the context of cultural and tourism integration in the new era.
